Top Employers in New York State: Albany’s Best Workplaces in 2024

Have you ever wondered which companies truly go above and beyond to make sure their employees are happy? There's a new survey that highlights those companies that their employees are proud to work for. Three on the list are in the Capital Region.

Forbes partnered with market research firm Statista. They surveyed more than one hundred and sixty thousand employees across the U.S. from companies with five hundred or more workers. People were asked how likely they were to recommend their employer, and they also shared opinions on companies they’d worked for in the past two years or knew of through family and friends.

The survey covered all fifty states and Washington, D.C., and data from the last three years was analyzed. The most weight was given to recent responses and current employees' feedback. Companies with the highest scores made the list, with the number of ranked employers in each state depending on its size and survey participation.

In New York State, some of the standout employers in the Albany area include the State University of New York at Albany, which employs ninety thousand people, Albany Medical Center with sixteen thousand employees, and the New York State Insurance Fund, which has eighteen hundred employees. These organizations are known for creating great work environments and keeping their teams happy.
