This Capital Region McDonald’s Suddenly Closes!
There are over six hundred McDonald's restaurants across New York State but now there is one less. A Capital Region McDonald's in a high-traffic location has closed.
This McDonald's restaurant sees about forty thousand vehicles pass by it each day. It was a busy location off of Route 7 in Latham. So it comes as a surprise that it has closed.
Which McDonald's Closed?
The McDonald's at 1122 Troy Schenectady Road was operated by Vincent Spadea according to the Albany Business Review. Spadea owns a few other McDonald's restaurants in New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, and Rhode Island. This McDonald's was built in 1976 and is 4500 square feet.
Spadea stated, through the McDonald's corporate office,
Our purpose is to feed and foster communities. Due to several operational and economic challenges, we have made the difficult business decision to cease operations at this location. However, we are always looking for new opportunities to serve our customers.
It is unsure what will happen to the property. But there are several other McDonald's locations nearby in Latham on Route 9, another on Central Ave, Wolf Road, and Osborne Road.
