He is the "Most Electrifying Man In Sports Entertainment", one of the most popular pro wrestlers of all time. He has done very well with his move to Hollywood with hit movies such as "The Scorpion King", "Walking Tall", "The Tooth Fairy", "Faster" and this weekend's "Fast Five". Now Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is becoming a country star, well sort of.

It has been reported that Johnson will help produce and star as Charley Pride in a biopic on his life. Starting from the beginning as a young child in Mississppi to his rise as a country music star. You may be thinking to yourself, "The Rock?".  But I can see it. Charley Pride is a rather big guy and Johnson  can actually sing.  Don't believe me? Check this video of him as The Rock singing Kenny Rogers "The Gambler"

He also made an appearance on the Tonight Show last year singing a classic Sam Cooke song.

Charley Pride gave his thoughts about about Johnson playing him in the movie in a recent interview:

"Dwayne is such a force on screen. It startled me a little at first, but he flew down to Dallas and spent a day with me just sitting, talking recently. And when he left it was like parting with an old friend. We had such similar views on so many things.”

I am actually looking forward to seeing The Rock pull this off. It's definitely a stretch from his usual action star movie roles. But actors need to branch out from time to time, this could be his breakout performance!
