I was recently honored to be a part of the distinguished panel Taste of Country enlisted to contribute, negotiate, argue out, and somewhat agree on a list of the most popular Country songs of all-time.

I'm happy to report that several of my choices made the cut, with most of my influence supporting classic country acts like Eddy Arnold, George Jones, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Vince Gill, Bill Anderson, The Statler Brothers, Ronnie Milsap, Tanya Tucker, Randy Travis, The Judds, Ray Price and Willie Nelson.

In the end, Kenny Rogers' classic 'The Gambler,' penned by Don Schlitz, was voted No. 1 on the list of The Top Country Songs of All-Time.  Shortly after Taste of Country revealed that Rogers and Schlitz were at No. 1, he quickly responded.
