For those that thought 'American Idol' was losing it's steam after the departure of Simon Cowell, here's some reassuring news that the show is still as popular.
As you know by now and was previously mentioned here on wgna.com, Scotty McCreery beat Lauren Alaina last night to become the 2011 American Idol. His first single which he sang last night has already hit the internet and sounds like a big ol' hit to me! It's called "I Love You This Big".
It looks to be a good week for country music as far as reality competition shows go. First, John Rich became the first "Country" Celebrity Apprentice on Sunday and tomorrow we are guaranteed to have a country singer as the next American Idol. It's down to Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina.
Doesn't look like America wants a rocker this year to win on "American Idol." 22-year old James Durbin received the least amount of votes this week on the show. Only three contestants are left now and it's getting down to the wire for sure...
This week on "American Idol," two contestants were voted off. 55 million votes were cast for this week's tirbute, if you want to call it that, to Elton John. As I predicted Naima Adedapo was one of those that was sent home. She sang a reggae version of "I'm Still Standing." My opinion, not good at all even if you knew what song she was trying to "make her own."
