Doesn't look like America wants a rocker this year to win on "American Idol."  22-year old James Durbin received the least amount of votes this week on the show.  Only three contestants are left now and it's getting down to the wire for sure.

Durbin has been very consistent on the show, impressing judges and earning lots of popularity.  Ironically, he teamed up with Scott McCreery this weeke before the elimination to sing a country duet.  The two sang Brad Paisley and Keith Urban's "Start a Band."  The other two contestants left, Lauren Alaina and Haley Reinhart teamed up to sing Miranda Lambert's "Gunpowder and Lead" -- yet another country song.  Geez, I wonder what genre of music is most popular right now!

While it would have been nice to have such an original singer like Durbin win this year's contest, I firmly believe we are going to see a country singer in the making win the 12th season's crown.  My prediction -- the final two contestants, after next week, will be down to Lauren Alaina and Scott McCreery.  I've always said Alaina would win, but I believe country music and its roots will prevail on top.  Both Lauren and Scotty have stayed true to country music, even though in the past Simon Cowell scoured at the idea, but in the end, it never hurt Carrie Underwood.  I'm pulling for both of them to at least make it to the finals and then it sure will be interesting to see who wins it all.
