Scammers come at us in a variety of ways. They sometimes take our identity and try to get us to send them money claiming to be the police or collections, but this latest scam is terrifying. Fortunately, no one was hurt but for an Upstate NY woman, she thought a family member was kidnapped.
It's one of the stories we heard since we were a kid. A stranger comes up to you using a lost puppy or a puppy with them to talk to you and then you're kidnapped. I can't believe it happened locally!
Imagine answering a call from an unknown phone number and hearing "Daddy, Daddy....please help me!" Followed by the voice of a man who claims to have kidnapped your child, asking for ransom money and threatening injury if you don't follow suit. The thought alone is enough to send chills up your spine, making even the most attentive parents wonder if their child truly is in harms way. Y

Sadly it is all too easy to see parenting fails in this world. This one comes to us from Missouri where a family decided that the best way to teach their son about the dangers of kidnapping is to actually make him live through that trauma.
Heroes come in all shapes and sizes, I love everything about this one. One minute Charles is just eating his McDonald's the next minute he is a national treasure. I really do believe what he did was great, and brave. In a world where most people just don't want to get involved, Charles stepped up and made a difference.
