Troy is welcoming a familiar name back to River Street, and this time it comes with a bigger restaurant.

Slidin Dirty has opened a new restaurant on the first floor of 433 River Street, a space many locals remember as the former River Street Market.

The business started in 2012 as a food truck before opening its first restaurant on First Street in 2014. In August 2023, the food truck and catering side separated from that location, which was later rebranded as Twisted Fiddler. Owner and chef Tim Taney said the change created an opportunity to refocus the brand.

Taney has remained an active presence in the Capital Region's food scene. He managed the kitchen at Ophelia’s in Albany starting in December 2024 and at Malta’s NaNola in early 2025 before both restaurants closed.

According to News 10 ABC, Slidin' Dirty sliders will continue to be served at Ophelia’s Albany and Troy locations, in addition to the new River Street restaurant. Taney shared that returning to Troy feels special since it is where the business first built its following and community support.

The new location seats about 125 people and offers plenty of standing room. It also includes darts and pool, giving guests more ways to spend time beyond the food.

There is a second bar in a separate events room that was formerly The Fox and The Burn. The space will also host live music regularly, thanks to improved acoustics and early interest from musicians during the Troy Victorian Stroll.

A grand opening is planned for next month. Those interested in front-of-house or back-of-house jobs can email infor@slidindirty.com to request an application.
