Should I Lend Money To A Good Friend? – Daily Dilemma

Here is Today's Daily Dilemma:

A very close friend of mine is having some financial trouble and has asked me to co-sign a loan or if she could borrow $5,000 from me. Her plan is to use the money to pay off some credit cards and small bills, so that she’ll have just the one debt payment a month instead of each individual account. I want to help her out, but I feel like if she already got herself into financial trouble, her track record isn’t exactly helping prove she’ll pay me back. I really don’t want to mess up the friendship, but I feel like either way I go it could be a problem.
