
Severe Storm Hazard Looms Over Parts Of New York Today
With spring in full swing and warmer weather along with it, it's that time of year when we will start seeing active weather patterns that include severe thunderstorms and more.
According to the Weather Channel, a large storm system covering a huge area of the US from the Great Lakes all the way down to northern Texas is heading toward New York State today. This system could cause hazardous storm conditions in large areas of central and western New York.
National Weather Service Issues Hazardous Weather Outlook
The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Central and Western New York today and tonight. The NWS forecast calls for severe thunderstorms from 2 pm to 9 pm. There will be potential for damaging winds, hail, flash flooding, and the possibility of an isolated thunderstorm.
Capital Region Forecast
According to the News Channel 13 First Warning Forecast, here in the Capital Region, we can expect clouds to increase through the day, with potential thunderstorms passing through areas north and west of Albany.
While it will be a little cooler and breezy on Wednesday with highs in the 60s, the sun will return for the last day of April.
