Schenectady Restaurant Owner on Food Network This Week

Don't you love when local people are on national television? Well, another local restaurateur will be featured on the Food Network this week and they're taking on a heavyweight!

I saw the Daily Gazette post it first, but Aneesa Waheed, owner of Tara Kitchen in Schenectady, will be featured on the Food Network again, this time she's taking on Bobby Flay. Flay, of course, not a stranger to the Capital Region. He frequents Saratoga Race Course, owns a few horses, featured Hattie's Chicken Shack, but now, it's Schenectady's turn to show him up.

Waheed's episode of "Beat Bobby Flay" will be on later this week, Thursday, March 21st at 10:00pm. Waheed was last featured on "Guy's Grocery Games" and it wasn't long after that appearance that Food Network that she got a call to come back. Waheed filmed this episode in Brooklyn last spring and can finally talk about it!

The Daily Gazette reported that the episode synopsis says, "The kitchen goes metal when Iron Chef Jose Garces and Worst Cooks in America's Anne Burrell team up to take down their good friend Bobby Flay." If she wins the first round, it's her decision what she and Flay cook and since I assume she'll pick Moroccan, we may already be able to guess how the episode ends.
