Sabrina Gogan – 2014 Country Idol Finals Judge

Meet Sabrina Gogan!

Sabrina Gogan will join the judges panel for the 2014 Country Idol Finals at Vapor in Saratoga Casino and Raceway on Thursday, June 12.  Gogan was the 2012 Country Idol winner.

Q: What do you think makes someone a country idol?

A: A country idol, to me, is someone who can keep an audience on the edge of their seat the second they let out a note. It’s someone who can get the audience all riled up and feeling good, to making them feel every emotion he or she is feeling because they get so lost in song. They have fun, and they show it on stage, proving they’re not just there to win, but there to be heard.

Q: What’s your advice to the contestants?

A: Pick two contrasting songs for your performances. Start with the one that’s going to leave us wanting more, and blow us away with your second piece. Pay attention to the lyrics of your song, and tell us the story. And although it can be super nerve-wracking, don’t show it…own the stage and have fun!

Q: Who are some of your favorite country music performers?

A: My favorite country music performers have a wide spectrum from Chris Young, Miranda Lambert, and Shania Twain to the classics like Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams and Elvis Presley.
