Once again the connection between country music and auto racing have come together. This time at Daytona International Speedway which is featuring American sports car racing's biggest event this weekend - the Roxlex 24 At Daytona.

In a precursor to the Rolex race, the Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge was held on Friday. Bill Auberlen and Paul Dalla Lana of Turner Motorsports finished first, but their apparent win was excluded several hours after the race due to a technical infraction. The exclusion gave the win to the original second place finishers, Ashley Freiberg and Shelby Blackstock.

Freiberg became the first woman to win overall in Continental Tire Challenge history. It also was the first Continental Tire Challenge victory for Blackstock, the son of singer/actor Reba McEntire. Blackstock's previous best finish was third at Kansas Speedway last year.

This weekend's 52nd anniversary Rolex 24 At Daytona is the first race for TUDOR United SportsCar Championship, the newly unified organization between the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series and the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers who will be driving in the Rolex race include 2010 Daytona 500 winner Jamie McMurrary, rookie Kyle Larson and 2010 Rolex winner A.J. Allmendinger.
