POSTPONED: One of Saratoga Counties Most Popular Foodie and Family Events
An event that foodies throughout the Capital Region enjoy every year has been postponed until a later, safer time, according to organizers in Saratoga County.
Saratoga's annual Chowderfest, originally scheduled to take place on Saturday, February 5th has been postponed until March due to recent Covid spikes in the county, and throughout New York.
No soup for you!
According to Discover Saratoga, the new date for the Saratoga Chowder Fest 'N Tour will be on Saturday, March 26th from 11 am - 4 pm.
In a press release on Wednesday, Discover Saratoga explained that "Due to increased COVID-19 cases, Discover Saratoga has decided to reschedule Saratoga Chowder Fest ‘N Tour for the safety of our community, local businesses, and event-goers. Saratoga Chowder Fest ‘N Tour will take place on Saturday, March 19 through Saturday, March 26."
While Saratoga celebrates the creamy soup all week, the event culminates with the actual Chowder Fest on the week's final day, which has now been moved to March.
In the days leading up to the fest, "event-goers will have the opportunity to dine-in or purchase pints and quarts to-go at participating restaurants all week long."
On March 26th, the event will feature live entertainment and many family-friendly activities from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. throughout downtown Saratoga Springs. Those in attendance can taste and enjoy $2 chowder samples while voting for their favorites.
Many restaurants and food vendors whip together their tastiest - often very creative - variations of the cold-weather comfort food in hopes of taking the title of the "People's Choice" award for best-tasting chowder.
