According to the New York State Police, a brown dog with white paws was found about an hour west of Albany in East Worcester, New York.
State Police say that they're looking for the person(s) who castrated a dog and left him to wander on a highway. Thankfully, according to the NYSP, the poor guy was picked up by some good samaritans and brought to the Susquehanna SPCA.
Can You Castrate Your Dog?
No. The American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), among others, strongly encourages owners of dogs and cats to have their companions neutered. As this is a surgical procedure, it is only legally performed at a veterinary clinic. Home removal constitutes animal cruelty and can kill a dog due to blood loss or infection.
