One Capital Region Haunt is Bringing the Hayride Back, Others Remain Hopeful
Too soon for a post like this? Well, it depends on who you ask.
We still have a full month (or more) of summer, but there are some people in our area who are counting down the days until it's 'pumpkin spice all of the things,' apple picking, sweater weather and Halloween. And of course, what would fall be without those Capital Region hair-raising haunts and attractions that scare the daylights out of us?
Last year during the peak of the pandemic, the masks that most of us wore were of the Covid variety, and not the scary ones. In addition, changes were made to many of our favorite Capital Region haunted attraction including the beloved hayride.

Last year, Night Terrors Haunted Farm in Schoharie did a walking trail instead, Field of Horrors in Troy completely removed trails and hayrides, while the Double M Haunted Hayrides in Ballston Spa and The Headless Horseman in Ulster Park did drive-thru versions of the haunt.
This year, as Covid restrictions have loosend up a bit, so too have some of the limitations placed on guests.
Night Terrors remains hopeful to bring to back the hayrides but are still uncertain. "With everything up in the air and CDC recommendations fluctuating back and forth we haven’t come to a decision on the hayride yet," their staff told us.
Field of Horrors has yet to announce their opening date but they explained, "At this time we're not planning to have the Hayride. We have added a new attraction this year and have made many improvements to the Field."
