New Plans Announced for Albany’s Historical Kenmore Hotel
Some of the most famous names in music, like Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong, played at the Kenmore, until it went unused for years in Downtown Albany. Now, with the announcement of the new changes, it looks like the hotel will be full of life again.
Redburn Development Partners announced last week that the famous Rain-Bo Room inside the former Kenmore will be renovated by Katie O' Weddings and Events as a banquet hall and wedding space, according to the Times Union.
Internally, the building was broken down into a bunch of office spaces in the 1980s but developers are hoping that with this addition to Downtown Albany, it will bring the space back to what it was in the late 1800s and early 1900s.
The space, planning to open in April, will not only be a wedding venue but a space for conferences as well as other retails entities coming in the next few months. It's not only great to see this historic space revitalized for the area but also to bring more business and attention to Albany's once very popular location. Also, now, you can say you got married where Sinatra's sound once filled the halls!
