There is no more pressing issue in the world right now, than the Russian attack on Ukraine.

Russian troops began their invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, marking the peak of a disagreement that has been escalating since 2014. Since then, it has escalated into the biggest conventional military attack in Europe since World War II.

Despite happening thousands of miles away, the scope of the attack is worldwide, and concerned Capital Region citizens are gathering this evening to build support, and raise money for the victims in Ukraine.

In partnership with the Saratoga Peace Alliance, citizens of Saratoga will be holding a vigil to stand with the many victims of the invasion of Ukraine.

The Vigil will take place today (Thursday, March 3rd) from 5 PM to 7 PM at 475 Broadway in Saratoga Springs, NY.

The vigil will be centered around the collection of "envelopes for hope", which will allow residents of the Capital Region to write letters, and donate money, that will be sent to help aid the refugees of Ukraine that are currently fleeing the country.

The vigil is meant to stand with the victims of Ukraine, as well as the Russian citizens who are being persecuted for opposing the war that their country's government has started. It is also aimed at standing in support of the United States, and their pleas for the continued democratic push in the country of Ukraine.

If you are interested in showing your support for Ukraine, I highly, highly recommend attending this vigil, and being prepared to provide donations and words of hope for the refugees for whom the vigil is intended to support.

It may not seem like much, but every letter, and every donation, will help those who are caught in the middle of this atrocity. Not only that, it will help unite the United States, a nation that often has very few excuses to stand together as one.

This, however, should be one of those times.
