Murder In Schaghticoke – Arrest Made

The small town of Schaghticoke which will be hosting 1077 'GNA's SOLD OUT Countryfest 2013 on July 13th had a major crime unfold on Thursday.A murder and an attempted murder took place in the small town at approximately 8pm Thursday at 1445 Route 40. When police arrived at the scene they found 62-year-old Michael Matala dead outside of the residence and inside the residence they found 50-year-old Cynthia Matala nearly dead due to blunt force trauma. She is currently hospitalized on life support. The suspect is Cynthia Matala's son and the stepson of the deceased Michael Matala. He is 22-year old Anthony Repp and he attempted to flee the scene of the crime by hopping into a railway car. He was arrested on the train in Deerfield Mass.
