With the changes that have been made to the State Street area around Proctor’s Theater and the Erie Boulevard renovations, there are going to be some more improvements. This time, it’s between the downtown area and Upper Union Street area.

In the story from the Times Union, the Metroplex Development Authority is planning to either repair some buildings that are in bad shape, or tear them down. It’s being called “The Eastern Avenue Project” according to the Downtownschenectady.org website. Most of the addresses are for buildings on Eastern Avenue, and one on Nott Terrace Heights. Once the buildings are torn down, the cleared property will be ready for community improvement projects.
