Miranda Lambert Writing New Songs After Divorce
After the news of Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert's divorce broke last week, many fans questioned if true love even existed anymore. And though it broke many "relationship goals," there is one positive that may come from it: new music.
Not letting anything hold her back, Lambert has been keeping up with appearances. On Tuesday night (July 28) she played an intimate show at Nashville's 3rd and Lindsley venue billed as the Roadside Bars & Pink Guitars Unplugged concert. While on stage she revealed to the intimate audience that she's been hard at work on new music since the split.
For two hours Lambert played alongside fellow country singers, including Rae Lynn and Clare Dunn, and some of Music City's most talented writers, including Natalie Hemby. During the set she revealed she has spent a lot of time in the past weeks with these people to craft new lyrics and melodies.
“It’s been a long time since I’ve played like this, but I get to be up here with some of my best pals who I write with all the time,” Lambert said to the crowd (quote via Hollywood Life). “Actually, in the last two weeks, I’ve written with everybody up here.”
At one point in the show, the "Little Red Wagon" singer brought Hemby up on stage to perform a song they co-wrote together, "Virginia Bluebell," which is about a person who tries to stand tall despite being put down.
“I’ve been singing this one to myself a lot,” Miranda admitted to the audience.
As of now there is no official release date for new music. But hopefully these hints point in the direction of an album so good we'll all forget about that divorce.
