Miranda Lambert and Anderson East Enjoy a ‘Home Depot Date’
Dating Miranda Lambert doesn't mean every day is red carpets and VIP passes. Sometimes, it means spending a quiet Saturday planting flowers and painting the boxes they go in.
Lambert posted a photo on Instagram on Saturday (April 16) gushing about her beau, Anderson East, who apparently spent most of his day with potting soil and spray paint.
“A patient man spends all day planting impatiens…oh and spray painting flower boxes pink,” Lambert wrote in the caption, hashtagging the photo with "#homedepotdate."
The couple's romance has gradually become more public since Lambert announced it at the beginning of the year. Since then East has popped up in a few other Instagram posts, dished about how the couple met and even sang a cover of a Mariah Carey song with Lambert. The recently walked the red carpet with her at the 2016 ACM Awards — their first official public appearance together.
Lambert says she’s been writing a lot lately, the result of which will hopefully will appear on an album sooner rather than later, as her latest record Platinum came out in 2014.
“I’ve spent a lot, a lot, a lot of time writing lately,” she says. “I’ve had more time than I’ve ever had, so I’ve been able to write every day. I think I’ve been more honest – to myself, even. Not being afraid to lay it all out there. As I’ve gotten older I’ve laid it out there less at times in my career but now I’m just like, ‘Here it is, here’s my story.’ You can relate because everybody goes through s–t.”
Since Platinum released, however, the artist has been through a lot. Her divorce from fellow country star Blake Shelton made waves last summer, and his subsequent very public relationship with The Voice co-star Gwen Stefani gave Lambert even more to process.
Thankfully, it seems the "Smokin’ and Drinkin'" singer has moved on — she is clearly happy with East. And who wouldn’t be, with a man who isn’t afraid to plant a few flowers now and then?
