Luke Bryan and Mom Thank Fans for Prayers After Hurricane Destroys Her Home
Luke Bryan's mother, LeClaire, was just one of many who were hit hard by the devastating effects of Hurricane Michael, a Category 4 hurricane that hit the Florida panhandle on Oct. 10. While her Mexico Beach, Fla. house was, sadly, destroyed by the storm, she's binding together with her friends in the community to help each other through this terribly difficult time.
Bryan posted an uplfiting video of his mom to social media, in which she thanks all who are concerned about her wellbeing.
"This community has come together like you cannot imagine," a smiling and positive-looking LeClaire notes. "We are a family; we're rebuilding. We love you, we know you're thinking about us."
She finished up by urging everyone to keep praying, and gave a rousing cheer of "Mexico Beach strong!"
Bryan himself thanked fans for their thoughts, and offered up his own prayers for all on the Gulf Coast and south Georgia affected by the disaster.
The storm caused widespread damage throughout the area, and claimed more than 30 lives. Bryan's calls for prayers started the minute the storm was on its way toward the coast: "Pray for my people," he said. "So many dear people I know are being affected. My mother and so many friends live in Mexico Beach."
Florida Georgia Line singer Brian Kelley, a Florida native himself, launched and helped fund a relief effort, Tribe Kelley Hurricane Relief, along with his wife.
