Luke Bryan Concert Postponed Due to ‘Dangerous Weather’
Destructive flooding in the Shreveport, La., area has forced Luke Bryan to postpone his 2016 Kill the Lights Tour stop in nearby Bossier City, La.
Bryan was scheduled to play Bossier City's CenturyLink Center on Saturday (March 12); however, according to a post on the venue's Facebook page, "Due to widespread flooding and a 'state of emergency' being declared for Bossier City," the concert will be postponed "in the interest of safety."
Bryan will now play Bossier City on May 18, with Dustin Lynch as his special guest. All tickets purchased for the original show date will be honored. The 2016 Kill the Lights Tour began in mid-February, and dates are scheduled through the end of October.
This postponement is not the first time that Bryan's tour plans have been derailed due to flooding: His 2015 Farm Tour was plagued with postponements and cancellations because of heavy rains and floods. In fact, the Georgia native and his Farm Tour sponsors joined forces to raise money for those affected by the flooding in South Carolina.
“This has certainly been our most challenging year, but it’s also been our biggest …,” Bryan says of his 2015 Farm Tour. “The fun thing about [Farm Tour] is that there is no complacency because it throws you curve balls every year. It keeps everybody on their toes.”
Bryan's next scheduled Kill the Lights Tour stop is on Friday night (March 11) in Little Rock, Ark. Following that date, there is a break in his tour schedule until April 7. A complete list of upcoming dates is available on LukeBryan.com.
