Local Massage Parlor Shut Down By Police
An investigation has led to a shut down of a local business and an arrest. Based on witness information and police surveillance, officers from the East Greenbush Police department paid a visit to The Honey Bee Salon on Columbia Turnpike, in East Greenbush. This happened about 3:00 p.m. on Monday afternoon.
When the officers entered the business, they determined that 54-year-old Jing Xin Shen was engaged in unlawful activities. Shen was charged with Unlawfully Practicing Massage, which is a felony under state education law - Personal masseurs must be trained and licensed in New York State. She also has been charged with prostitution.
According to a press release from the East Greenbush Police Department, New York State Police assisted in the case. Shen was sent to East Greenbush town lockup waiting for arraignment.
