Two Albany Police officers stepped in a major way to save a 3-year-old from a burning building early Sunday morning.

Thanks to two brave Albany Police officers, a 3-year-old boy is expected to be ok after being rescued from a fire Sunday morning. According to a post form the Albany Police Department Facebook Page, Sergeant Christopher Cornell and Police Officer Joshua Sears were able to rescue the boy from the Third Avenue fire after his mother alerted them he was still inside the building. The officers were able to gain entry to the structure via the fire escape and were able to locate him after hearing him crying.

All I have to say is thank goodness for officers like Sergeant Cornell and Officer Joshua Sears. Our men and women and blue and our local firefighters are always willing to step up when necessary to keep us safe. And thank goodness the young boy is safe!
