Nicole Kidman recently celebrated a Golden Globe nomination with her film Lion, and Ellen DeGeneres was so happy she decided to call her friend during her show on Wednesday (Dec. 14). After two rings, Kidman picked up her cell phone as she walked out to the stage of The Ellen DeGeneres Show to a very surprised audience.

It was Kidman's last stop before she and her daughters fly to Australia that night to be with husband Keith Urban for the holidays. So, what exactly does a Christmas spent in the Urban/Kidman household look like? It turns out Kidman and Urban don't give each other Christmas gifts!

"We don't give each other gifts at Christmas," Kidman dishes. "I'll kiss him. He's in Australia right now on tour and the girls and I are here and we're flying to him tonight so we're his presents!"

Kidman says her daughters are like any other kid around the holidays: they want American dolls and candy.

"They want, want, want," she says, laughing. "The one thing we are doing, actually, which I just read an article on which is a great thing to do. They get to choose a charity to donate to and then we donate. They get to go online and choose it."

Urban is currently in Australia for his Ripcord World Tour with Carrie Underwood, and the two superstars recently joined forces for a fun and gritty cover of Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty's "Stop Dragging My Heart Around."
