Albany Woman Charged for Allegedly Damaging Vehicles Using Tire Iron

Friday August 28th turned into a frantic Friday in the Capital Region as an Albany woman went on a very destructive drive where she allegedly struck several vehicles with a tire iron causing thousands of dollars worth of damage.

With an increase in distracted driving, getting from point A to point B is difficult enough in 2026, now we have to worry about a tire iron wielding menace? Most likely this was an isolated incident, but you know where I'm coming from. Here's what we know about this case.

On Friday August 28th, according to a New York State Police press release, Troopers, with the assistance of the Albany Police Department, Menands Police Department, Guilderland Police Department, and Albany County Sheriff’s Office, arrested 33-year-old Davia D. Morrison of Albany.

Morrison was reportedly stopping her vehicle in the middle of the road, forcing vehicles behind her to come to a stop. She would then allegedly exit her vehicle with a tire iron and strike the victim's vehicle multiple times before driving away.

Albany Police located Morrison in the area of Holland Avenue. The Menands Police Department arrested, processed, and arraigned her on charges for a similar crime that occurred in their jurisdiction. Here are some of Morrison's charges:

• Three counts of Criminal Mischief 2nd
• Criminal Mischief 3rd
• Five counts of Reckless Endangerment 2nd
• Five counts of Menacing 2nd
• Two counts of Endangering the Welfare of a Child
