Alexandra Kay Has Something Important to Tell Kelsea Ballerini (EXCLUSIVE)

When Kelsea Ballerini released her 2022 album Subject to Change, it was the fuel needed to light the spark for Alexandra Kay to get out of her marriage.

Kay revealed Ballerini's big impact on her personal life while speaking to Taste of Country Nights about her new album, Second Wind.

During the chat she was asked if she gravitated toward any albums about divorce from other female country artists when she was going through her own split in 2023.

"Oh, for sure. I remember when I heard Kelsea's [album] I was feeling very, very lonely in my relationship and I was like, whoa—what she is doing right now, and she's doing it on this level... That is strength," Kay shares.

"I would be lying if I said it didn't give me a bit of strength to be like, 'This doesn't have to be my reality.' I don't have to be sitting here crying, feeling lonely in a relationship, ya know?" the singer adds.

Asked if she has had a chance to tell Ballerini about the impact she had on her divorce, Kay says she hasn't yet, explaining, "Anytime I ever see Kelsea, we are on a carpet or at a show and we are in passing so quickly."

Meanwhile, Kay is paying her fellow country star's impact on her forward when it comes to her own fans, sharing that people come up to her all the time to say things like, "You made me realize I needed to leave my man!" Kay jokes when that happens she never quite knows whether she should respond with a "you're welcome" or an "I'm sorry."

Kay's new album, Second Wind, was released on Friday (October 24).
