Living in Upstate New York, we frequently expect snow or rain, no matter what season we are in. The unpredictable and crazy weather is just a fact of life.

But the current streak of weekend weather is unprecedented here in the Empire State. It is a little mind-blowing.

Can you remember the last time we had a completely dry weekend, with no rain or snow in Albany? It has been a while, right? And, no, you are not imagining things.

According to a story from New York Upstate, the last time Albany had a full weekend free of any precipitation was November 16 & 17, 2024. That is over 6 MONTHS ago! Syracuse and Saranac Lake are on a similar streak without a dry weekend since those dates. Statewide, the weather has been a little more forgiving, with several areas seeing a completely dry weekend in the last month to 2.

Now that streak does include weekends with just a little bit of rain or snow, but the feeling our weekends overall have been wet and cloudy, especially this Spring, has been a reality.

Hopefully, this streak means we have dry weekend after dry weekend ahead of us for summer 2025.
