Most of us have lost our voice at one time or another. Usually laryngitis or some form of a cold or infection. For the little time without a voice, it can be extremely difficult. I'm not even talking about those of us who use our voices professionally. Try putting tape over our mouth and not talking for en extended period of time. Not easy.

There's a woman who lost her voice about ten years ago, due to severely damaging her vocal cords because while she was in a hospital, she would constantly pull out her breathing tube. She did this while she was sedated so didn't know that she did it. Never thinking she would be able to talk again, all that changed. Not long ago, she got her voice back after a  having a voice box transplant. This rare and delicate operation is only the second surgery of it's kind done in the U.S. 52 year old Brenda Charett Jensen had the operation back in October.

Brenda had several electronic "robot sounding" devices to use through the years. Having a voice again, has made her a very happy and lucky woman.
