A recently study determined the happiest states in the US. While we aren't the happiest, we certainly are not as miserable as folks make us out to be.

This is another one of those studies that I think would be different if you split off the greater new York City area. Because I gotta say, life is pretty good in the Capital Region and I think overall we are a happy group, right?

Wallethub recently determined the happiest states in the country. And New York finished right in the middle of the pack at #26. The rankings are based on:

1) Emotional & Physical Well-Being, 2) Work Environment and 3) Community & Environment.

You have to imagine we would score high on all 3 of the above categories in the Capital Region, maybe a little higher than for folks towards New York City. That said, 26th overall isn't bad.  Utah, Minnesota, North Dakota, Hawaii and Colorado were the top 5 on the list, Hawaii I get - but Minnesota and North Dakota? I would take New York over those any day! (It's actually colder in both.)

The bottom 5 are Arkansas, Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama and West Virginia. I'd take New York over all 5 of those as well!
