So many people have missed the green CDPHP CYCLE! bikes around Albany, Cohoes, Saratoga Springs, Schenectady, and Troy. It was just one of the many adjustments we all had to make in light of the coronavirus outbreak.

As part of a special series, we wanted to shine a light on how some of our Capital Region community business leaders are adapting in these unusual times. Our DJs are speaking with different business and community leaders to get a boots-on-the-ground look at how Albany is staying open for business.

This week, Chrissy and Brian spoke with representatives from CDPHP CYCLE! and the Capital District Transportation Authority because — SURPRISE — the green bikes are back and available for rent again:

The basics are the same: You can rent them for $50 for a season, $15 for a month or $5 an hour, with student plans 50 percent off. It's all run through the CDPHP CYCLE! app (available in your app store or at cdphpcycle.com) and you use your account number and PIN to unlock the bike using the keypad at the back of the bike.

Of course, extra safety precautions are in place, too. Staff cleans and sanitizes bikes on a regular schedule and bikes are parked in every other bay to promote social distances. Hand sanitizer is tied to the bike basket, and riders are encouraged to use their own wipes to clean the bike before they ride.

We recently jumped on the bikes and we can tell you: These bikes are both sturdy and convenient. They are a great option for getting where you need to go or simply exploring for a few hours. They've added a few rack locations, too, so click here for the latest information.

And definitely, we both encourage you to get out and enjoy our beautiful weather and the gorgeous Capital Region!
