Give a Pint-Get a Pint-Save a Life With Stewart’s

It has been a challenging last fifteen months, to say the least, and it has been especially hard to get blood donors here in the Capital Region. The American Red Cross and Stewart's Shops are teaming up once again to try and encourage blood donations with a sweet treat in return.

According to News 10 ABC, all this month of June, if you donate blood or give a pint of blood you will get a pint of delicious Stewart's pre-packaged ice cream or gelato. Not a bad deal for saving at least three lives. Every pint of blood given goes to help at least three people in the Capital Region and the North Country. Our area is in dire need of blood donors.

This is the sixth year that Stewart's Shops has partnered up with the American Red Cross for their "Give a Pint, Get a Pint" program. For the entire month, through June 30th, all twenty-five counties throughout the Capital Region and the North Country will be giving out free pints of Stewart's ice cream and gelato. You give blood, you get a voucher for your free ice cream.

This has been a successful incentive to get Upstate New Yorkers to give blood. Over the past six years, this campaign had resulted in nearly forty-thousand blood donations. There are local blood drives throughout the Capital Region. To find one near you, click HERE.

If you give blood you are helping to save at least three lives per pint. Blood donations are used for everything from heart surgery and organ transplants, leukemia and cancer patients, and accident and burn victims.
