Floating Sauna Opening Soon on Popular Upstate New York Lake
Very soon, you can work on your health and mental wellness while floating on one of the most popular and beautiful lakes in Upstate New York.
There’s something a little magical about the idea of sitting in a warm sauna, surrounded by nature, steam rising, and heart slowing. Now imagine that sauna floating on Saratoga Lake.
According to Discover Saratoga, that’s what Kos is bringing when it opens this this month. It's a public floating sauna inspired by Norway’s lakeside fjord saunas.
It’s not just about the heat. It’s about slowing down, stepping away, and going through the warmth, steam, and rejuvenation while floating on Saratoga Lake.
Kos—pronounced like “cozy” without the “y”—is a Norwegian word that captures simple joy, shared warmth, and quiet moments that make you feel alive. That’s the idea behind this floating retreat. It’s meant for everyone: the curious, the burned out, the seekers of joy, or just folks who want to sit in a quiet space with friends and breathe.
There will be options for drop-in sessions, private rentals, and a mix of events, including rituals, art, healing, and celebrations. And while the concept is simple, the experience is both fun and nurturing.
Best of all? It’s coming to life at the marina by Lago Restaurant by Druthers on the northwest side of the lake.
Kos is opening on Saturday, September 27th, from 4-10 pm. They are hiring too.
