I'm starting to feel like I work for the Weekly World News with these headlines-but this is for real!   You can't even make this stuff up!  Now let's get to the meat of today's blog (sorry) There are actually scientists working on this-making your own meat! According to Newser.com, there's one in particular working as we speak:

Vladimir Mironov of the Medical University of South Carolina is one of a few scientists around the world trying to perfect the technique.  "It will be functional, natural, designed food," he says. "How do you want it to taste? You want a little bit of fat, you want pork, you want lamb? We design exactly what you want. We can design texture."

Where will the meat be "grown"?  Well, according to the article, it will be grown in a "carnery".  You make wine in a winery, right?  You make beer in a brewery, right?  So why not make your carnivorous products in a carnery?

The only slight problem?  To bring this to "market"--again, no pun intended--will cost about 1 Beeeeeeeelion dollars!  Don't know if they're exaggerating, but according to the article, that's the expense to bring a new technology to market.

Where's The Beef? --Hey, give it time,  it might be growing in your basement, right next to your freezer.   (wow, that's GROSS!!!!!)
