Schenectady's new build-your-own fast-fired pizza restaurant is preparing to open its doors to the public on Friday and they're offering free pizza all day to celebrate.

Blaze Pizza, the first of its brand of quick designer pizza in the Capital Region, is opening at Mohawk Commons Shopping Center near the new Gap Outlet. Blaze offers diners the option of choosing from several signature pizzas, which include a BBQ Chkn Pizza with gorgonzola, banana peppers and a bbq sauce drizzle and a Green Stripe Pizza with pesto drizzled over chicken, red peppers and arugula, or building their own. The topping choices are extensive, from pizza basics to some more unique toppings, like ovalini cheese, turkey meatballs, white cream sauce and kalamata olives. Gluten-free dough and vegan cheese are also offered.

On average, the pizzas cost $7.85. Online ordering will also be available at the restaurant.

One of the most appealing things about Blaze is the quick cook time. Blaze boasts that the pizzas are fast-fired and done in 180 seconds. "Stay close. We'll call your name," the menu says.

So how do you get your free pizza on Friday? Simply follow Blaze Pizza on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook and show your phone at the counter when ordering. The deal only applies as one per person from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
