Blake Shelton Softens Up Talking About Gwen Stefani: ‘She’s My Best Friend’
Blake Shelton told the Today show’s Hoda Kotb that he and girlfriend Gwen Stefani are doing as well as ever in a new interview on Shelton's bus in Nashville.
“We’re just content and happy. It’s an incredible feeling,” he admits.
Kotb probed a bit further, asking Shelton to tell her what a typical non-work day looks like for the couple. And honestly, it's probably similar to many couples: just being together.
"Our hobby is just hangin’ out together," the country superstar replies, adding softly, "She’s my best friend."

Shelton and Stefani have been dating for over a year now, and though at first they seemed to be an unlikely couple, they have proven over and over again that they’re in it for the long haul. Even Stefani's three sons love Shelton — enough to draw their own versions of his tattoos on their arms. Both artists have said the other one 'saved' them in one sense or another after their respective divorces, having met on the set of The Voice after going through the very public breakups.
Shelton’s most recent album If I’m Honest features some songs about his split from Miranda Lambert, as well as the new relationship. He has said his next album will be his last, but he’s been known to say that before. He just wrapped up his 12th season of The Voice. Stefani rejoined the coaching cast again this season, replacing Miley Cyrus.
