Just in time for the official start of summer, a popular and beloved ice cream chain is returning to the Albany area.

It is that time of year: there is no shortage of great local spots in the Capital Region to enjoy some great soft serve or your favorite hard ice cream. We even have some great national chains in the area like Ben & Jerry's and Cold Stone Creamery to enjoy a sweet treat. As of this weekend, you can add another great national chain that has been absent from the area for several years.

Baskin Robbins To Return To the Capital Region

It has been a while since Baskin Robbins scooped their 31 flavors in the Capital Region. That drought will end when a new location for the national ice cream chain opens in Guilderland.

According to local food bloggers Notes On Napkins, a new Baskin Robbins will open at Hamilton Square located at 2080 Western Avenue this Friday, June 21st at 11 am and the new shop will be open 7 days a week from 11 am to 10 pm.
