Another New York Weather Outlook Calls For A Hot Summer Ahead
As our extended seasonal weather outlooks continue to roll in, you can line up another prediction of 'hot' for the state of New York.
A couple of weeks ago when the Farmers' Almanac released their summer weather prediction for the Northeastern United States and New York, the word they used to describe it was 'unrelenting.' Now another seasonal forecast is calling for some above-average temperatures.
National Weather Service Reveals Summers Temperature & Rainfall Weather Outlook
Get ready to fire up those AC units this summer! The National Weather Service (NWS) Climate Prediction Center has revealed its weather outlook for summer 2023 and two words sum it up: hot and wet. As you can see in the temperature prediction map below, they are saying the odds for above-average temperatures look likely.
When it comes to precipitation the NWS prediction is 'leaning' to above-average rainfall for most of New York, with those higher totals more than likely downstate in New York City and in the southern tier.
As always, take this all with a grain of salt - this is New York where the weather can be predictably unpredictable. But we now have multiple forecasts calling for a hot summer ahead!
For those of us Upstate - will this finally be the year we get back to 100 degrees for the first time in 70 years?
