There seem to be a lot of craft breweries and distilleries popping up throughout the Capital Region. One of the original distilleries is adding a facility to its already booming company.
Albany Distilling Company Getting Bigger Digs
Albany Distilling Company has taken over a new space. It is about eight times the size of their other space at 78 Montgomery Street in downtown Albany. The eighty-five hundred square foot production facility is located at 718 Third Street in Albany. This will allow them to triple their output according to the Albany Business Review. Although Albany Distilling Company is keeping the Montgomery Street location, they say they will use it primarily for barrel storage.
What Will the New Space be Used For?
Albany Distilling Company was able to renovate the new space with the help of a fifty thousand dollar grant from National Grid in conjunction with the Main Street Revitalization program. John Curtin, the owner of Albany Distilling Company says this space makes the bottling and distilling process to the next level.
It's got all the bells and whistles. When we first started, we were a brand new company. So we had a much leaner budget. This way, we moved all the equipment here and we were able to really build around our needs.
