Why did two Empire State neighbors outlaw an old US Navy tradition?

There seem to be a lot of craft breweries and distilleries popping up throughout the Capital Region. One of the original distilleries is adding a facility to its already booming company.

Now, after changing hands from several generations and several families it is now up for sale for $2.95 million. You can also rent the island for a mere $8,500 a week. Whiskey not included.

A local town has been "dry" since 1933, but finally, they voted yes to making the town "wet" again.

It has the name "Whiskey" and it's a private island? Sign me up! There's just a small problem with the funds but just imagine being able to spend time here over the summer!
