Albany Rush Hour: Guess How Much Time You’re Wasting Annually
Every day, to-and-from work, you're stuck in rush hour. Have you ever wondered how long each year you're spending in it? You're not going to believe it!
Rush hour is no one's favorite time of day. You're either on your way to a full day of work, stuck in traffic, or you're on your way home from a full day of work, stuck in traffic. Think about it, you're stuck in rush hour twice a day and most likely five days a week. After a while, that's a lot of time, but have you ever thought how much?
A new study from the Texas A&M Transportation Institute released last week revealed that those of us in the Capital Region are stuck in delays 49 hours a year, according to the Times Union. As a whole, Capital Region commuters waste 17.5 million hours each year to traffic and leads us to waste more than 7.3 million gallons of fuel each year.
Most of these congestions last "Weekday afternoons, from 3 to 5 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 2 p.m."
