Airline Surprisingly Ends Albany to Buffalo Flights
OneJet, which launched an Albany to Buffalo route earlier this year, has suspended the flights.
According to a Times Union report, OneJet ended the service because of financial difficulties. The IRS currently has a tax lein over $620,000 on the airline, plus the Pittsburgh airport is currently looking to recoup over $750,000 in incentives.after the airline failed to reach the terms of their agreement. The Times Union says OneJet could owe the Albany Airport as well, as rent free use of their terminal was part of their 2 year agreement with the airport.
After an almost 10 year absence, OneJet re-introduced the Albany to Buffalo flight which the Times Union says was met with great enthusiasm from the business community. It seems though lack of passengers is not the issue here, but financial pressures from One Jet's other operations.
