If you were planning on taking the kids to the Saratoga National Historic Park in Stillwater for a taste of history, you’ll have to wait. Because of the government shutdown, the park, located about 30 miles north of the Albany area is closed.

When I went to the website for the Saratoga National Park, I got a message about how the website pages aren't working because of the government shut down.

In a story from the Times Union, closed signs and traffic barricades have been set up at the park entrances. There’s no word about when the park will reopen, since the members of Senate and House can’t seem to come to some sort of compromise.

We had a story on WGNA.com about how it's unknown that this shutdown will last.

Not only is the shutdown affecting the park, News 10 ABC had a story about how this could affect an Albany area veteran’s ability to walk.
