2nd Chick-Fil-A Planned For Colonie-Find Out Where
It seems that Chick-fil-A is finally listening to the demand of the Capital Region. Last week it was announced that they are building their first location (outside of Albany International Airport) in Clifton Park. Now we have learned that they are planning a second location in Colonie.
According to the Times Union, planning documents were filed with the Town of Colonie to open the new Chick-fil-A. There has been chatter for years about building a location in Latham and now if everything goes as planned, that's where it will be. It will be at the site of the Brick House Tavern on Troy Schenectady Road.
The company would demolish the building and build the Chick-fil-A to their specifications complete with a drive-thru. This location is in Latham Farms near Applebee's and Panera Bread Co.
If everything goes as planned and the company gets approval, the Chick-fil-A at Latham Farms could be built within six months. The Clifton Park location is expected to open as early as Thanksgiving. The Colonie Chick-fil-A would be about five thousand square feet and hold one hundred fifteen parking spaces along with outdoor seating.
As much as everyone raves about Chick-fil-A, I am not a huge fan. I don't really get it. Their chicken nuggets aren't great and the chicken sandwich isn't, in my opinion, the best one I have ever had. But that's just me. At least we will have more options to choose from. At least we have the option in two locations now and don't have to buy a plane ticket to get it.
