The Former Dakota Steakhouse In Latham Is Really Gone

Yesterday, I was driving by the Latham Farms entrance on Route 2, and saw something that looked a little strange. Something was missing. It was the Dakota Steakhouse. The building is gone. Back in November, Scott Blaine did a story on Joe’s Crab Shack coming to the Albany area and replacing the Dakota. The Business Review mentioned that Dakota was in that location since 1994 and abruptly, and sadly closed in July 2011. As far as I know, nothing’s changed.

I know some people will be saying that this is another feather in corporate America’s hat. Try to look at it this way, it will give some people jobs, including some of the former workers of Dakota. It also gives you another choice of a place to go out and eat.

Dakota Steakhouse still has a location not too far from the Albany area in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
