It's August in Saratoga! Thousands of people are placing their bets and enjoying the social scene in Saratoga Springs, New York. As we approach the biggest race of the season, The Travers, and prepare to welcome many more visitors, we've compiled a list of some fun things to do in the Saratoga area...

As I was going through my news feed this morning one of my friends posted this line. I immediately started to post my suggestions. They are not all winners but not everybody is when we are talking about the track! So think about Saratoga and all it has to offer and about all the people braving the heat wave to experience opening day and let's have some fun at their expence...

As Saratoga season gets closer my mind has shifted to horse racing. Yesterday something pretty amazing happened, a horse threw it's jockey out of the gate and went on to win the race. What's even crazier is it happened TWICE yesterday!

When that bugle blows at 1pm at Saratoga Race Course the gates will be ready open and the thunder will be ready to rumble as the best thoroughbred horse meet in America will officially get underway!

Everyone loves giveaway days at Saratoga Race Course. I know some people who have collected the hats every year. I do love them as well, I know I'm a fan of the blankets.

I’ll Have Another will not run at the 144th Belmont Stakes on Saturday. The horse, who was vying to become the first Triple Crown winner since Affirmed in 1978, was ruled out by his trainer Doug O’Neill, who spoke about the matter on ‘The Dan Patrick Show’ on radio Friday morning.

Saturday is the Belmont Stakes, the last leg of the Triple Crown series of horse racing.  This race is nicknamed “The Test of a Champion” as it’s the longest race in the series.

Besides it being Saturday, which is usually enough for most of us  to celebrate, but there are two more.
