The sports equipment garage of local high school, Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons was set on fire and police claim it was intentional. Despite such a horrible event, acts kindness prevailed.

The fire resulted in the loss of much of the school's sports equipment. Among many items lost were the football team's gear and a variety of weight lifting and exercise equipment but that didn't stop the team from playing.

According to the Times Union, support for Notre Dame Bishop Gibbons' football team came from all over the Capital Region including Schenectady High school, Union College and the University of Albany.

Once news of the incident reached Twitter, football equipment giant Riddell, donated new equipment.

Thanks to many generous donations and a dedicated "go fund me" page, the school was able to gather the necessary equipment just in time for their play off game against the Hoosic Valley Indians.

Despite over coming a tough past two days the team was unable to pull off the win. However, we are proven that in the school's time of need the Capital Region and beyond can huddle together and help one another.
