In a decision that will surely receive some criticism from residents and small business owners across the Capital Region, a bombshell was dropped in the midst of all the NFL headlines surrounding the "coaching carousel" and this coming weekend's Wild Card playoff action. The New York Giants announced today that the team will not return to the UAlbany campus for training camp this summer, but rather will stay home at their year-round headquarters, the Timex Performance Center.
There are probably some parents that were shocked to hear this news, especially if their children or child attend UAlbany.
The Super Bowl Champion New York Giants are reporting to camp today. There will be 14 practices all at 1:30pm at University of Albany.

President Obama, after speaking for 22 minutes, has left the podium at UAlbany. He spoke of the tremendous growth we've had here in the Albany area and his vision for seeing that happen in every American city. He spoke about jobs and creating them - and bringing jobs back home from overseas.
The President also outline a to-do list for Congress, joking that there are only a handful of things on the list so that they aren't overwhelmed. The entire list is posted on the blog of the President via The White House website.

It was announced today that we will see at least four more years of the crosstown rivalry Men's Basketball game between the UAlbany Great Danes and the Siena Saints. According to the Times Union, the schools have agreed on a contract that will run throught the 2014-2015 season.
